Американские ученые объявили о победе над раком молочной железы. Каковы перспективы нового препарата?
Ученые из Иллинойсского университета в Урбане-Шампейне разработали и протестировали препарат, быстро купирующие первичные опухоли и рассасывающий метастазы.
«Движок» нового метода лечения рака груди – молекула, убивающая от 95 до 100% опухолевых клеток. Исследование велось на мышах, пишет MedicalXpress.
Исследователи обещают, что, даже выжившие раковые клетки, давшие начало новой опухоли, останутся полностью чувствительными к повторному лечению препаратом.
Обещают так же ученые, что новый препарат гарантирует быстрое разрушение большинства метастазов в легких, костях и печени, резкое сокращение метастазов в мозге.
Активность препарата зависит от рецептора эстрогена. Это белок, присутствующий в опухоли молочной железы. Вступает в связь с рецептором эстрогена, препарат активирует клеточный путь a-UPR, а тот подготавливает раковые клетки к стремительному росту. Но чрезмерная активация a-UPR «перегружает» и разрушает раковые клетки.
Почти 75% случаев рака молочной железы выявляют по объему рецептора эстрогена. Это означает, что препарату по силам лечение самой распространенной формы онкологии груди.
