Тигровая акула, королева вод Австралии, длиной «всего» 3 метра, увязалась за Риком Мэннингом, который катался на гидроцикле в береговых водах острова Норт-Страдброк в штате Квинсленд. Горожанин отдалился от берега, чтобы понаблюдать за горбатыми китами, но отвлекся на крупное скопление небольшой рыбы.
Подъехав поближе, Мэннинг увидел, что рядом с рыбами плавает акула. Но и акула его увидела. Решив рассмотреть ее поближе, Мэннинг вплыл в «личное пространство» акулы. Во всяком случае, он признал, что дразнить хищника не следовало.
В какой-то момент акула бросилась на гидроцикл и яростно вцепилась в борт. Мэннинг едва не упал за борт, но удержал, хотя и с трудом, равновесие.
«Я явно раздражал ее. Она не собиралась нападать на меня. В случившимся виноват я, а не хищник», — говорит австралиец.
Его водный транспорт получил заметные повреждения
