Миллиардер Билл Гейтс, основатель компании Microsoft, заявил, что на мир вот-вот обрушатся пандемии хуже коронавируса.
Признавая, что штаммы Омикрон и Дельта являются одними из самых трансмиссивных вирусов, он предупредил о риске столкнуться с патогеном, который вызывает «гораздо более высокий уровень смертности или тяжелых заболеваний».
Гейтс добавил, что решение проблемы неравенства в области вакцин возложено на филантропов и правительства богатых стран, и это он считает странным.
Также Гейтс указал на то, что большая часть инноваций, которые направлены на подготовку к грядущей пандемии, может быть полезна и для решения существующих глобальных проблем здравоохранения. Например, это может помочь в создании вакцины от ВИЧ, а еще более эффективных прививок от туберкулеза и малярии.
