Интерактивная карта, созданная специалистами NASA создали интерактивную карту, наглядно демонстрирующую, чем грозит изменение климата британской столице.
Согласно расчетам, значительная часть Лондона может уйти под воду уже в 2030 году. Карта показывает, какие части суши может стереть с лица земли повышение уровня моря в ближайшие годы.
Области, отмеченные на карте, столкнутся с частыми наводнениями и регулярно будут погружаться под воду, пишет The Indedendent.
Речь идет не только о Британии — под угрозой все районы в радиусе 100 км от побережья, в первую очередь, — островные и низинные государства.
Для англичан прогнозы NASA выглядят более чем серьезными. В августе многие районы Англии, включая столицу, оказались серьезно подтопленными в результате проливных дождей. За несколько недель стихийное бедствие обрушивалось на Великобританию трижды. В Лондоне не работал общественный транспорт, так как улицы ушли под воду.
