Что было не так с пациенткой, заразившейся сразу двумя штаммами COVID-19?
Неделю назад исследователи объявили, что 90-летняя жительница Бельгии, скончавшаяся от COVID-19 в марте, была носительницей одновременно британского и южноафриканского штаммов.
Врачи, а после ученые, заинтересовались анамнезом пациентки, когда она была еще жива. Понадобилось время, чтобы провести исследования и получить однозначные результаты.
По мнению медиков, сегодня проблемой является недооцененность рисков заражения сразу несколькими штаммами, ведь далеко не все клиники располагают временем и возможностями для сбора данных, важных для ученых.
Случай заражения сразу двумя штаммами обсуждался на Европейском конгрессе по клинической микробиологии и инфекционным заболеваниям. Женщину, которая не была вакцинирована, заразили, скорее всего, два разных человека.
Первоначально уровень работы легких у нее был стабильным, вскоре состояние ухудшилось, спустя 5 дней она умерла.
Молекулярный биолог Анне Ванкеерберген настаивает: «Оба штамма на тот момент циркулировали в Бельгии, поэтому женщина, вероятно, была одновременно инфицирована разными вирусами от двух разных людей».
Сегодня речь идет о четырех штамма, самый опасный из которых, — «дельта», пришедший из Индии.
