В США завершились судебные слушания по делу нейл-салона, в который в 2018 году пришла на педикюр 55-летняя жительница Флориды. Мастер нечаянно сделала порез.
В рану попала инфекция, которая быстро распространилась по телу клиентки. В том числе и потому, что женщина страдала заболеванием периферических артерий. Этот состояние, вызывающее сужение кровеносных сосудов и уменьшение притока крови к конечностям.
В результате женщине ампутировали ногу. Она также потеряла свой дом, когда медицинские расходы из-за ампутации оказались непосильными. Теперь пострадавшая вынуждена жить с родственниками.
В 2020 году клиентка подала в суд на салон, где производила педикюр. В иске утверждалось, что при процедуре работница салона использовала инструменты и оборудование, которые были настолько грязными, что представляли опасность для клиентов.
Представители салона в свою очередь заявляли, что клиентка не обратилась за неотложной медицинской помощью и не приняла разумные меры для предотвращения развития инфекции.
В конце концов, однако, в середине декабря 2021 было достигнуто мировое соглашение. Женщине предстоит получить компенсацию в размере 1,75 миллиона долларов.
