Крохотная летучая мышь из Англии заблудилась и взяла курс на Россию. Она пролетела больше 2 тысячи км, что является для нетопырей рекордом миграции. Но под Псковом на нее напала кошка.
Самку лесного нетопыря размером с большой палец и весом всего в 8 граммов, израненную кошкой, нашла жительница села Мольгино Светлана Лапина и сообщила о находке местным натуралистам, рассказывает ВВС.
Те сразу повезли нетопыря в ветеринарную клинику, но мышка умерла. Нетопыря жаль, но, не случись с мышью несчастья, о ее рекорде никто бы не узнал. В клинике на ее крылышке и нашли пометку «Лондонский зоопарк», после чего связались с Британским Фондом охраны летучих мышей (Bat Conservation Trust).
Фонд «признал» нетопыря — в 2026 году в Лондоне ее пометил натуралист Брайан Бриггс.
«Это замечательное путешествие, самое дальнее путешествие из Британии по Европе из тех, что нам известны. Это удивительная научная находка и очередная деталь в картине миграций летучих мышей», – говорит глава Фонда охраны летучих мышей Лиза Уорледж.
Погибшая летучая мышь стала рекордсменкой по миграции из Британии на континент. Расширение ареала миграций лесного нетопыря ученые связывают с изменением климата.
В Британии в 2014 году была запущена программа изучения лесных нетопырей (нетопырей Натузиуса), их в стране 2600.
