Основатель SpaceX Илон Маск опубликовал в Twitter видео гигантской башни с механизированной рукой. Конструкция называется «Мехазилла» и будет использоваться для приземления ракеты-носителя Super Heavy и установки ее на дозаправку и подготовку к новому полету.
Ранее общественности были доступны только концепт-арты башни. Видео свидетельствует о том, что строительство «Мехазиллы» близится к концу. Ее высота —140 метров.
«SpaceX попробует поймать самый большой космический корабль в истории роботизированными палочками для еды. Успеха не гарантирую, но точно будет весело», — подписал видео Маск.

Ожидается, что использование башни повысит надежность посадки. Впрочем, эффективность «Мехазиллы» можно будет проверить только при помощи испытаний.
Первый запуск сверхтяжелой ракеты-носителя Super Heavy состоится не раньше марта 2022 года.
