Биологи, дайверы и экологи из международного объединения Angel Shark Project поделились радостью — на видео попала крайне редкая плоскотелая акула или Европейская скватина (Squatina squatina).
Ее «простое» имя – акула-ангел. Ангел находится на грани исчезновения и точно о его существовании неизвестно от встречи к встрече.
И вот фотограф Джейк Дэвис заметил морского ангела у побережья Уэльса. Он наблюдал редкую рыбу на протяжении 15 минут.
Это первое видеоизображение скватины в водах Уэльса.
Максимальная длина морских ангелов составляет 2,4 м для самок, и 1,8 м для самцов. В кадре — малыш размером около 30 см. И это означает, что он родился недавно, следовательно, уэльская популяция продолжается.
Акулы-ангелы живут как среди песка, так и в смешанной среде обитания. Эта особь охотилась на рыб семейства бычковых.
Хорошо, когда акулу оберегают. А не прыгают на нее
Сеть возмутило видео, сделанное подпившими яхтсменами. Телеграф показывал кадры, сделанные, как предполагают подписчики, у берегов Саудовской Аравии. Яхтсмен, которому море по колено, прыгает за борт и приземляется на спину акулы. А что акула?
