Муравьев можно использовать для ранней онкодиагностики? Французские ученые рассказали, почему
Французские ученые из университета Сорбонна экспериментальным путем выявили способность муравьев находить раковые клетки по запаху.
Они исходили из того, что здоровая и больная клетка различаются запахом. Взяв за основу предположение, что чувствовать онкологические клетки могут собаки, французы провели исследование с использованием муравьев.
Для эксперимента взяли 36 муравьев Formica fusca. За верное определение здоровых и онкологических клеток насекомым поощряли сахарной водой. В итоге в усложненном эксперименте муравьи смогли среди множества образцов выявить клетки, пораженные разными типами злокачественных опухолей.
Ученые видят за своим открытием большое будущее. Ранняя онкодиагностика стоит очень дорого, у малообеспеченных слоев населения, особенно в третьих странах, на нее часто нет денег. А вот диагностика с использованием муравьев будет стоить в разы дешевле.
