Специалисты NASA и SpaceX предложили астронавтам, совершающим полеты на «Crew Dragon», ограничиться использование уборной.
Об этом попросила менеджер программы коммерческих экипажей NASA Стив Стич. Рекомендация адресована астронавтам NASA Шейну Кимброу и Меган Макартур, а также японскому космонавту Акихико Хошиду и французскому космонавту Томаса Песке. Это новый экипаж Crew 2, прибывший на МКС 16 сентября.
«У нас есть другие средства, позволяющие экипажу выполнять необходимые функции. В скафандры астронавтов вшиты специальные подкладки, и полет домой длится недолго», — заявил Стич.
Впервые о серьезной поломке туалета стало известно после первой в истории миссии астронавтов-любителей Inspiration4. Во время полета космических туристов в баке для отходов каким-то образом отсоединилась деталь, в результате чего моча просочилась в вентиляционную систему.
И все же происшествие не омрачило радости полета экипажа Inspiration4
