Космическая миссия Inspiration4 с непрофессиональным экипажем капсулы Crew Dragon успешно приводнилась в ночь на 20 сентября в Атлантическом океане. Полет продолжался чуть более трех суток.
Возвращение прошло по графику. Капсула корабля на парашютах опустилась на океан в расчетное время.
Экипаж состоял из двух женщин и двух мужчин, несколько раз выходивших на прямую связь с Землей.
Корабль Crew Dragon строился как туристический, с прозрачным куполом, открывающим панорамный обзор на Землю с высоты свыше 500 тысяч км.
Впервые корабль, принадлежащий компании SpaceX, приводнился в Атлантическом океане. Прежде корабли Илона Маска садились в Тихом океане у берега Калифорнии.
