Турецкие врачи выявили новый симптом затяжного COVID-19 — поражение нервных волокон роговицы глаз .
В британском профессиональном журнале офтальмологов появились результаты исследования о том, что при затяжном течении коронавируса и его последствий поражаются нервные волокна. Одновременно растет объем ключевых иммунных клеток на роговице глаза.
У одного из десяти пациентов, утверждают медики, развивается «длительный COVID», спровоцированный именно повреждением нервных волокон. Об этом свидетельствует сравнение конфокальной микроскопии роговицы больного и здорового.
У 55% заболевших неврологические симптомы выявились 4 недели, у 45% — через 12 недель. Тесты показали, что пациенты с неврологическими симптомами страдали от повреждения и потери нервных волокон роговицы с большим количеством дендритных клеток.
