В Вильнюсе и Люблине, возвели огромные «порталы», создающие иллюзию отсутствия расстояния между городами.
Портал — круглой формы, которая символизирует колесо времени. Первый в мире виртуальный мост представляет собой круг с экраном, который выглядит, как портал в другое измерение.
Оба «портала» имеют экраны и камеры для прямой трансляции другого города. Вы можете видеть людей в другом городе, махать им. Визуальное решение напоминает вид, открывающийся космонавтам на мир внизу. Такая технология называется «эффектом обзора». Именно его испытывают астронавты, видя Землю в космосе.
В обычное время портал «молчит», — поддерживать круглосуточную озвучку сложно, но ситуационного звук будут включать.
Автор идеи Бенедиктас Гилис говорит, что проблемы человечества, даже такие глобальные, как поляризация и изменение климата, имеют причиной непонимание людьми друг друга. Задача «портала» — сблизить обитателей разных «миров».
На создание портала у Бенедиктаса Гилиса ушло 5 лет. Портал будет «связывать» Вильнюс и Люблин до августа, потом переедет в другой город. В будущем авторы проекта мечтают менять города каждые 10 минут.
