Президент Южной Кореи настроен положить конец поеданию собак
Блюда из собачьего мяса в Южной Корее издавна считаются традиционными лакомствами, тем не менее, с современной цивилизационной точки зрения эта национальная традиция кажется странной.
К идее окончательно запретить употребление собачьего мяса в пищу выступил президент страны Мун Чжэ Ин. Во время встречи с премьер-министром Кореи Ким Бу Геном он спросил: «Не пора ли взвешенно рассмотреть вопрос о запрете на употребление в пищу мяса собак?».
И это дает надежду активистам движения борьбы с поеданием собак. В Корее регулярно проходят акции протеста против употребления этого продукта.
Санитарные власти страны относят мясо собак не одобренным продуктам, официально продажа собачатины запрещена в стране еще с 1980 года, а сам Мун Чжэ Ин завел себе нескольких псов и фотографируется с ними, напоминая, что это друзья, а не еда.
Тем не менее, рестораны, где подпольно кормят собачатиной, — это целый бизнес, особенно в Сеуле.
Едят собак и в других странах: на Тайване, в Китае, на Филиппинских островах, в Лаосе, Камбодже, Таиланде.
