В США в штате Ойгао супруги Гарви подарили своей дочери на Рождество домашний ДНК-тест — новинку от популярного генеалогического сервиса AncestryDNA.
30-летняя Джессика сразу им воспользовалась и сообщила родителям, что ее отец — не ее.
Результат ДНК-теста не показал у молодой женщины «отцовских» итальянских (сицилийских) корней. Наоборот, выяснилось, что они валлийские, ирландские и немецкие.
Последующие тестирования подтвердили: вероятность того, что Джессика биологически связана с отцом, равна нулю.
В ходе выяснения всплыло, что в 1991 году отец и мать Джессики прошли через один из видов оплодотворения — внутриматочную инсеминацию в клинике Summa Health System. Процедура подразумевает введение спермы мужчины непосредственно в матку женщины — такой метод увеличивает вероятность успешного зачатия.
Но в клинике, как оказалось, женщине ввели сперму незнакомца вместо биоматериала мужа.
Никто об этом не догадывался в течение 30 лет. Сейчас супруги подали в суд против клиники, которая проводила процедуру оплодотворения.
Донора спермы, оказавшийся отцом Джессики, уже нашли. Он тоже проходил процедуру лечения бесплодия. И обрадовался, узнав, что отцом все-такие стал.
