Британские ученые-психологи провели исследование, объектом которого стали 748 человек возрастом от 18 до 88 лет. Целью исследования было узнать — действительно ли мемы о COVID-19, карантине и пандемии помогают бороться со стрессом и придают спокойствия и уверенности.
Ученые собрали несколько сотен мемов из интернета. После просмотра мемов респонденты оценили их забавность и отметили свое состояние на предмет волнения или тревоги. Оказалось, что мемы о COVID-19 успокаивали людей — с ними было легче воспринимать информацию.
Мораль: рассматривая смешные мемы, люди находят в себе силы посмеяться над проблемой и одновременно воспринять ее всерьез.
А еще ученые советуют внимательнее присмотреться к полыни. Как и мемы, она эффективна в борьбе с заболеванием
