Ученые предложили новый ответ — куда делись динозавры
Ученые снова решили проанализировать факторы, приведших к триасовому вымиранию, произошедшему свыше 200 миллионов лет. Именно оно стало стало причиной гибели многих живых организмов на Земле.
Ученые изучили окаменелости в породах Бристольского канала на территории Британии. И обнаружили следы двух факторов, способствовавших, по их мнению, резкому вымиранию живых организмов.
Первый — извержение вулканов под водой. Это привело к повышению кислотности в Мировом океане, из-за чего животные попросту не могли размножаться.
Второй — повышение уровня сероводорода, к которому также привела вулканическая активность. Изменение уровня сероводорода стало причиной, по которой многие представители нашей планеты того времени попросту не смогли выжить.
Сегодня существует огромное количество версий того, что могло привести к триасовому вымиранию. В их числе — резкая смена климата, изменение уровня мирового океана, падение астероида и многие другие.
Однако международная группа ученых уверена, что немаловажную роль в катастрофе сыграла вулканическая активность.
