В Англии отныне будут использовать только кирпичи с отверстиями. Для «потерявшихся» пчел
В Англии в Брайтон-энд-Хоув в Англии приняли закон, согласно которому в новых зданиях выше пяти метров должны быть специальные кирпичи для гнездования одиночных пчел.
Все знают пчел, которые живут в больших ульях — это так называемые общественные пчелы.
Но есть и одиночные насекомые, и их большинство — почти 250 из 270 видов, обитающих в Великобритании. Одиночные пчелы считаются важными опылителями растений, и их исчезновение может нанести серьезный урон местной экосистеме.
Их и решили спасать с помощью кирпичей. Оказывается, одиночные пчелы часто селятся в щелях старой кирпичной кладки. Но новые здания строят так, что никаких полостей для насекомых в них нет, и пчелы от этого страдают.
Пчелиные кирпичи — такие же, как и обычные, но с отверстиями: в них пчелы могут залезать и жить.
Член городского совета Роберт Немет, стоящий за этой инициативой, надеется, что эти кирпичи внесут вклад в сохранение биоразнообразия.
