В Австралии запретили говорить «нападение акул» и заменили словом «взаимодействие». Это почему?
Власти Австралии решились на важный шаг в защиту прав акул. Теперь о возможном нападении акулы на человека нельзя говорить иначе как о «взаимодействии» либо «негативном столкновении».
По мнению ученых, термины «нападение», «укус» не должны употребляться применительно к акулам, так как укрепляют культуру страха перед этими обитателями морских глубин, сводя тем самым на нет усилия людей и фондов, занимающихся защитой популяции, сообщает Sky News со ссылкой на австралийские источники.
Между тем численность многих видов акул во всем мире неуклонно исчезает, и здесь особенно важно преодолеть страх перед животными, найти новую стратегию, позволяющую понять их поведение.
Леонардо Гуида, исследователь акул из Австралийского общества охраны морской среды, надеется, что новая терминология «поможет развеять врожденные предположения о том, что акулы — это хищные, бессмысленные монстры-людоеды».
