В городе Шибгандж на северо-западе Бангладеш 5 август от удара молний погибла свадьба. В разгар внезапной грозы жених и сопровождающие его гости подплыли на лодке к дому невесты, чтобы далее отправиться с ней на церемонию.
Молнии начали бить в берег, когда гости стали покидать судно. Несколько цепных разрядов молнии, следовавших один за другим, стали причиной гибели 16 человек. Еще один человек скончался в больнице.
14 человек, в том числе, жених, получили серьезные ожоги, сообщили СМИ.
Такое возможно? Да. Каждую секунду по поверхности Земли ударяет около 100 молний.
В Бангладеш от удара молний ежегодно гибнет до 100 человек. Пик пришелся на 2016 год, когда в течение мая погибло более 200 фермеров, работавших на полях, из них 82 — за один день.
