В Дели возводят очередную «Башню смога». Спасет ли она мегаполис от удушья?
В Дели на 15 августа запланировано открытие башни, предназначенной для борьбы со смогом. Это не пилотный проект, такие башни в мире уже есть, однако новая индийская конструкция поражает масштабом.
Башня возводится в районе Коннот-Плейс, где расположены представительства и штаб-квартиры многих компаний. Многие из этих зданий возведены в колониальную эпоху, но их красота утонула в серо-желтом налете смога, да и сотрудникам дышать нелегко.
Сама по себе она воздух не очищает, но создает зоны «чистого дыхания», фильтруя воздух в радиусе одного квадратного километра и удаляя до 50% самых опасных частиц диаметром до 2,5 мкм.
Еще одну башню из 40 гигантских вентиляторов планируется построить в Нью-Дели: ее высота будет достигать 25 м, а стоимость проекта оценена в $2 млн.
Дели входит в число самых загрязненных мегаполисов и для того, что эффект был заметен, городу нужно 200 таких «башен». Но, поскольку 70% электроэнергии в Индии вырабатывается из угля, по экологии юудет нанесен удар другого порядка. «Если мы действительно, действительно хотим решить проблему загрязнения, его нужно решать на уровне источника», — говорят экологи.
Ранее власти Дели безуспешно пытались сократить количество автомобилей. Сейчас все силы брошены на «Башню».
