В космосе произошла крупнейшая за десятилетие авария: китайский спутник столкнулся с обломком российской ракеты
Американский астроном Джонатан Макдауэлл проинформировал в Твиттере о самой крупной с 2009 года аварии на орбите. Столкнулись китайский спутник и старая российская ракета.
Авария, в чем ее особая опасность, произошла на низкой околоземной орбите. Здесь очень много неконтролируемого мусора. По данным Космического командования Великобритании, насчитываются 37 известных обломков, но, скорее всего, их больше.
«Похоже, это первое крупное подтвержденное орбитальное столкновение за последнее десятилетие», — говорит астроном.
Китайский спутник несколько раз корректировал орбиту, — это означает, что Китай им управляет, хотя это и устаревшая модель. А вот российская ракета недействующая — заброшенная.
Именно между «мертвыми» спутниками и происходят столкновения. Но все известные незначительны по сравнению с новым «космическим ДТП». В космосе накапливается все больше заброшенных спутников.
«Они будут врезаться друг в друга по нарастающей. Поэтому необходимо убирать их с орбиты. Мы ожидаем рост подобных столкновений, если никто не уберет из космоса мертвые спутники и корпуса старых ракет».
