В Норвегии запретили разводить спаниелей и бульдогов. Из сочувствия к ним?
В столице Норвегии Осло Окружной суд постановил запретить разведение в стране английских бульдогов и кавалер-кинг-чарльз-спаниелей.
Судьи согласились с аргументами правозащитной организации Animal Protection Norway, подавшей иск к заводчикам.
Причина — профессиональному разведению подлежат только здоровые собаки, однако у данных пород большинство щенков рождается с предрасположенностью к ряду заболеваний.
Например, бульдоги имеют проблемы с дыханием, а спаниели — врожденные пороки сердца, болезни позвоночника, а также проблемы с глазами и ушами.
Суд подчеркнул, что постановление не распространяется на заводчиков, стремящихся решить проблемы со здоровьем животных и избавить последующие поколения собак от болезней. Но власти будут следить за тем, чтобы скрещивание было «ответственным и научно обоснованным».
