В Перу нашли массовое ритуальное захоронение. Археологов удивило наличие среди жертв детей и форма «ритуального зала»
На севере Перу в Латинской Америке группа археологов обнаружила останки 29 человек, принесенных в жертву около тысячи лет назад.
Среди них — трое детей и один подросток. Самые юные из жертв были похоронены у входа в древнее церемониальное капище, известное в научном мире как Huaca Santa Rosa de Pucala.
Капище или ритуальный зал находится на территории современного региона Ламбаеке, в 750 км к северу от Лимы, столицы страны.
Все тела, за исключением одного, сохранились хорошо. Археологи изумлены не только количеством и молодостью жертв, но и планировкой ритуального места, выполненной в форме буквы D.
25 погребенных являлись представителями культуры Моче. Они были уложены в глиняные гробницы, расставленные в разных секторах погребального места. Их «сопровождали» керамические изделия и останки принесенных в жертву животных — лам, альпака и морских свинок.
