В Швеции 3 октября в ДТП погиб художник-карикатурист Ларс Вилкс. Он разбился вместе с охраной, выделенной Вилксу после того, как «Аль-Каида» «заказала» художника за 100 тысяч долларов в 2007 году после того, как Вилкс опубликовал эскиз скульптуры собаки с головой пророка Мухаммада.
Художника и его охрана — двое полицейских — погибли на магистрали Е4 на юге страны. В авто Вилкса врезался грузовик, оба автомобиля загорелись, водитель грузовика получил серьезные травмы, его допросили в больнице.
Дом Вилкса неоднократно пытались поджечь, в 2010-м в Ирландии арестовали группу людей, готовящих на него покушение.
Ларс Эндель Роджер Вилкс (1946-2021) — шведский художник и карикатурист. Доктор философии истории искусств, преподаватель Национальной Академии Искусств Осло с 1988 по 1993 годы, с 1997 по 2003 годы — профессор теории искусства в Национальной Академии Искусств в Бергене.
