Принадлежащий NASA вертолет Ingenuity совершил десятый автономный полет над поверхностью Марса, побив в этот раз прошлые рекорды. Утром 25 июля NASA сообщила о рекорде в 1,6 км.
«Это был самый сложный полет Ingenuity, с десятью пунктами на маршруте, на рекордной высоте. Речь идет об общей дальности в одну милю в районе, который называется Поднятые хребты. Полет выполнялся на рекордной высоте 40 футов (12 метров)», — отчитались астронавты.
Задача марсианского вертолета — сбор топографических данных для марсохода Perseverance со съемкой местности, представляющей собой совокупность каменных образований внутри кратера Езеро.
Первый испытательный полет Ingenuity совершил 19 апреля, поднявшись на 30 секунд на три метра.
