Власти Шотландии первыми в мире сделали бесплатными прокладки и тампоны для женщин
15 августа в Шотландии вступил в силу закон, согласно которому государственные и образовательные учреждения обязаны бесплатно предоставлять женщинам тампоны и прокладки во время менструации. Законопроект утвердили еще в мае 2020 года. И это первая в мире подобная реализованная программа.
Власти Шотландии пообещали, что эти средства гигиены должны быть доступными в общественных центрах, молодежных клубах и аптеках. Всего должны открыть более 1000 пунктов, которые можно будет увидеть через специальное приложение «PickupMyPeriod».
«Обеспечение свободного доступа к средствам личной женской гигиены фундаментально важно для поддержания равенства и чувства собственного достоинства человека, оно устраняет финансовые барьеры», — прокомментировала программу секретарь по социальной справедливости правительства Шотландии Шона Робисон.
Ранее, в 2018 году, правительство Шотландии обеспечило бесплатные санитарно-гигиенические товары в школах, колледжах и университетах.
За ним последовали и власти Франции, которые в 2021 году решили бесплатно предоставить прокладки и тампоны студентам, установив автоматы с ними в кампусах и общежитиях. Аналогичные программы сейчас реализуют в Новой Зеландии и Калифорнии. Такую программу обсуждают и в Германии.
