Животные умирают от коронавируса. Смерть редких барсов это подтвердила
В США в Чикаго сотрудники Детского зоопарка Линкольна сообщили 12 ноября о смерти знаменитых Макалу, Эвереста и Ранни — снежных барсов, любимых как горожанами, так и подписчиками аккаунтов зоопарка.
Эти животные внесены в список Международного союза охраны природы как находящиеся под угрозой исчезновения. Сегодня на земле обитает всего несколько тысяч снежных барсов. Тесты на COVID-19 дали положительный результат.
На момент выявления заболевания у барсов в зоопарке уже были больные коронавирусом — суматранские тигры Аксель и Кумар. Их лечили антибиотиками и стероидами, они идут на поправку.
Год назад из-за заражения коронавирусом в Дании были убиты почти 3 миллиона норок. Тогда было решено считать, что датчане погорячились, и случаи заражения коронавирусом животных не могут быть тенденцией, а представляют собой единичные случае.
Зоопарк обсуждает возможность вакцинирования всех имеющихся в нем животных.
