19 декабря в 7:38 наступит полнолуние. Коренные народы Америки называли его снежным или голодным, поскольку в этот период снегопады затрудняли охоту.
В этом декабре луна, приближаясь к полнолунию, уже помешала наблюдению за максимумом метеорного потока Геминид, а в вскоре после полной стадии воспрепятствует и попыткам увидеть другой звездопад, Урсиды.
Еще один популярный термин для этого явления — «голубая луна».
Существуют исследования, доказывающие, что фазы луны влияют на продолжительность сна даже в ярко освещенных городах. Так что нам грозит некоторая бессонница.
