В Нидерландах пятерым малайским медведям из зоопарка Бургерс Зоо достался подарок — «самая красивая тыква страны». Ее выбрало жюри чемпионата по выращиванию тыкв.
Тыкву весом более 635 килограмм вырастил фермер Герьян Путтенштейн из Везепа. Сначала в качестве украшения она стояла в местном ресторане, а затем, чтобы не портилась на глазах у посетителей, ее отправили в зоопарк в Арнеме. На радость его обитателям, которым, прежде чем лакомиться тыквой, пришлось понять, как забраться на нее и в нее.
А в США из любви питомцев к тыквам сделали ежегодное шоу, которое приносит зоопарку доход
В Орегонском зоопарке в Портленде раз в год проходят слоновьи состязания. Огромные животные давят (и едят) огромные же тыквы, которые специально в подарок для них выращивают местные фермеры. Так люди помогают другим зоопаркам: знаменитое шоу собирает зрителей, а часть выручки направляется другим зоопаркам, не столь известным.
