На Филиппинах в городе Кесон-Сити в огромном торговом центре компания Netflix установила гигантскую копию куклы-убийцы из корейского сериала «Игра в кальмара».
Жуткая кукла, исполняющая в не менее жуткой тональности песню «Тише едешь — дальше будешь», предназначена для контроля за правилами дорожного движения. Она «выслеживает» тех, кто пытается перейти дорогу на красный сигнал светофора. Если человек пытается перейти дорогу на красный свет, девочка резко поворачивает голову и мигает красными глазами, пытаясь «вычислить» преступника.
Компания разместила 3-метровую реплику куклы в рамках маркетинговой кампании перед запуском шоу по мотивам сериала. В ходе шоу игроки, соревнующиеся за большой денежный приз, должны добежать до финиша, пока поет огромная кукла. Когда она замолкает, участники состязания замирают, иначе их «устранят».
«Игра в кальмара» возглавила чарты Netflix по всему миру сразу после выхода 17 сентября.
