Под Днепром мужчина много лет подпирал навес железякой. Но что это оказалось?
В Украине под Днепром в Павлограде местный житель нашел у себя на огороде ржавую железяку. Находка пригодилась в хозяйстве — он подпирал ею навесы.
Дом мужчина приобрел еще в 1986 году, тогда же и нашел «железяку». И только годы спустя, когда в его жизнь плотно вошел Интернете, понял, увидев в Сети фотографии древних мечей, что подпирает навес одним из них.
В конце января он пришел в музей и в рамках акции «Подари музею экспонат» вручил находку музейщикам.
Из-за неправильного хранения у меча отсутствует крестовик, повреждено острие и заржавела верхняя часть оружия. Это усложняет идентификацию меча, и все же он в хорошем состоянии.
«Изучение меча позволяет предположить, что он относится к периоду раннего Средневековья. Меч имеет обоюдоострый клинок длиной 70 сантиметров и шириной 3,5 сантиметра. Его вес составляет более 1 килограмма. Такие мечи имеют невыраженное острие. на нанесение рубящих ударов. Меч нуждается в реставрационных работах для окончательного определения периода бытования и принадлежности к той или иной культуре», — рассказали в музее.
