Житель предместья Мельбурна — столицы Австралии — всю жизнь искал золото. А попутно Дэвид Хоул подбирал и приносил в дом камни, в которых, при должной химической обработки, рассчитывал обнаружить золотые самородки.
В местности, где живет Хоул, многие в XIX веке промышляли добычей золота. Потому привычка гулять по окрестностям с металлоискателем осталась и многих жителей населенного пункта до наших дней.
В 2015 году Хоул обратил внимание на красноватый камень и забрал глыбу домой. Он попытался ее расколоть. Но разбить камень не помог ни один из его многочисленных инструментов.
Буквально недавно мужчина решил показать находку специалистам Мельбурнского музея. Вскоре ученые шокировали Хоула благодарностями — оказывается, он хранил дома настоящий метеорит возрастом 4,6 миллиарда лет. На нашу планету космический пришелец попал относительно недавно — примерно 1000 лет назад.
