Мировые СМИ написали о том, как в Новой Зеландии семью местных жителей, отдыхавшую близ города Данидин, ограбил крупный попугай породы кеа.
Птица стащила видеокамера и улетела с ней. Но не просто расковыряла клювом, а стала снимать себя в полете.
Теперь у биологов есть запись полета кеа, и это очень ценно: обычно на этих птицах, которых называют «клоунами гор», закрепить камеру не удается.
Кеа – крупный попугай длиной до 40-50 сантиметров и массой до килограмма. Он живет только в Новой Зеландии, выклевывает жир у мертвых овец и повреждает автомобили клювами, полагая, что там можно найти съедобное.
Как попугай добрался до камеры? Заметил, что люди снимали его с балкона на GoPro, улучил момент и выдернул ее клювом.
Закончив съемку и устроившись на приличном расстоянии, птица уселась на камень и попыталась съесть похищенное. От ее манипуляций корпус пострадал, но остался работоспособным.
А как семья забрала камеру? Ориентируясь на громкий крик попугая, пошла по его следам. В итоге младший ребенок увидел брошенную камеру на скальном выступе.
