Ученые начали новое исследование, призванное послужить дальнейшему «общению» с морскими млекопитающими. Исследователи из Австралийского национального университета предположили, что ключом к нему может стать музыка.
Для проверки гипотезы в декабре 2021 года они провели эксперимент, который показал: дельфинов привлекают высокие частоты флейты, пикколо, индийской бансури, а также высокая тональность человеческого голоса.
Эксперимент проводился в Порт-Стивенсе в штате Новый Южный Уэльс. В этой акватории дислоцируется группа из 140 мигрирующих афалин.
Концерт для дельфинов давала флейтистка Салли Уокер. Едва она начала играть первое произведение — пространство вокруг лодки стало заполняться «зрителями».
«Один двигался с той же скоростью, что и лодка, а остальная часть стаи «танцевала» вокруг него. Казалось, их привлекали высокие частоты и определенные интервалы между нотами», — рассказала музыкант.
При помощи гидрофона ученые также записали реакцию дельфинов на музыку.
«Звук распространяется по воде совершенно иначе, чем по воздуху; особенно низкие частоты. Но частоты дельфинов очень высокие, и нам нелегко услышать нюансы в их речи. Флейта или колоратурное сопрано — самые «высокие» инструменты, которые есть в нашем распоряжении. Судя по поведению дельфинов, они принимают такой способ коммуникации», — пояснил профессор Ким Кунио.
