Удивительную охоту леопарда удалось снять 47-летнему специалисту по хищникам Йохану Кронье во время отдыха с семьей в парке Kgalagadi Transfrontier на границе ЮАР и Ботсваны.
Фотоохотнику повезло: на дороге он заметил самку леопарда, которая затаилась за песчаным откосом, следя за стадом спрингбоков — антилоп-прыгунов.
Это уникальный вид — антилопа, обитающая в открытых саваннах Южной Африки, умеет вертикально подпрыгивать на высоту до 3 метров. Так спрингбок подает сигнал об опасности своим сородичам.
Но нашей антилопе не повезло. Хотя она и способна развить скорость до 90 км/ч, леопард, бегающий со скоростью всего 60 км/ч, поступил хитрее. Сначала хищнику не везло, но потом, как мы увидим во втором видео, он применил чудеса слежки и акробатики, ползком подбираясь к антилопе.
Что произошло дальше, смотрите сами. Скажем только, что хищник, как смог установить автор видео, оказался самкой и потащил добычу в логово, где ее ждали два малыша.
