На Южном полюсе закончилась зима. Это самая холодная зима за всю историю наблюдений.
В период с апреля по сентябрь исследовательская станция, расположенная на высоком плато в Антарктиде, зафиксировала среднюю температуру -61°C.Это самая низкая температура, зарегистрированная с начала ведения наблюдений в 1957 году. Она холоднее предыдущих зим примерно на 2,5°C.
