В Киеве в середине дня 9 марта на Майдане Независимости начался концерт с призывом к мировым державам закрыть небо над Украиной. Играли оставшиеся в столице музыканты симфонического оркестра «Киев-Классик» под руководством дирижера, артиста ЮНЕСКО во имя мира Германа Макаренко.
Музыканты исполнили гимн Украины и гимн Европы — фрагмент «Оды к радости» Людвига Ван Бетховена. Сыграли и ряд известных украинских музыкальных произведений
Накануне в аккаунте оркестра появился призыв присоединиться к киевским музыкантам, имеющим опыт игры с оркестром.
«Музыканты, давайте объединимся! Сегодня страна в опасности и Художник ЮНЕСКО во имя мира Герман Макаренко призывает присоединиться к акции Kyiv Classic Orchestra «МЫ С ВАМИ — МЫ ВМЕСТЕ!». Мы хотим поддержать боевой дух наших храбрых борцов, сыграть гимн Украины и украинские композиции в столице Украины. Эта акция мира также направлена на поддержку призыва президента Владимира Зеленского к правительствам и народам мира прекратить войну на Украине», — написали накануне инициаторы концерта.
