Житель Великобритании Морган Бизек поймал редчайшего синего омара. Проверяя ловушки для омаров, расставленные у берегов острова Джерси в проливе Ла-Манш, он обнаружил редкую особь. Редкую настолько, что ученые сомневаются — существует ли еще этот вид.
«Он был в одной из 400 ловушек. У нас по 25 ловушек на леске, и он был в одной из них», — рассказал Бизек.
Ловля омаров в Британии осуществляется с учетом ограничений по размерам. Омар с синим окрасом панциря не превышал размеров, установленных законом. Но Бизек его отпустил, чтобы не отправлять красивое существо на съедение.
Рыбак сфотографировал омара. И выложил фото в Сети. по вылову норме, мужчина выпустил его обратно в воду ради сохранения вида.
Когда фото дошло до кафедры зоологии Оксфордского университета, эксперты признали, что рыбак имел дело с редкостным экземпляром. Шанс поймать или хотя бы увидеть омара — один на два миллиона.
Омары синего цвета появляются в результате генетической мутации. У таких особей в чрезмерных количествах вырабатывается ответственный за синюю окраску протеин.
