Видео, сделанное во время учений ВМС США, на котором торпеда, выпущенная атомной подлодкой, разрывает на две части списанный фрегат, собрало множество просмотров.
Учения Sinking Exercise (SINKEX) прошли 25 августа. Мишенью стал фрегат Ingraham из категории Oliver Hazard Perry. Его атаковала атомная подлодка Chicago типа Los Angeles, выпустившая торпеду Mark 48. До этого американцы отрабатывали на фрегате массированный ракетно-бомбовый удар.
«Это впечатляющая демонстрация морской огневой мощи и различных возможностей нанесения ударов с моря, которые ВМФ и Корпус морской пехоты (КМП) рассматривают как важные компоненты своих новых концепций операций», — комментируют военные.
Фрегат был списан из состава Военно-морских сил Соединенных Штатов в 2015 году.
