В Бангладеш полиция нашла спрятанного учителем бога Вишну рекордного возраста
В Бангладеш разгорелся конфликт между полицией и школьным учителем из деревни Боро Гоали вблизи города Комилла, итог которого обрадовал археологов, работающих с наследием южно-азиатского региона.
Получив, как говорят они сами, «секретную наводку», полицейские нагрянули с обыском к сельскому учителю и убедились, что «информатор» не солгал, — тот действительно нашел статую индуистского божества Вишну из черного камня. Археологи установили возраст статуи — более 1000 лет.
Высота статуи около 23 дюймов, ширина 9,5 дюйма, весит скульптура около 12 кг.
Начальник полицейского участка Даудканди сообщает прессе, что сельский учитель Абу Юсуф нашел статую полтора месяца назад, но не сообщил о находке, как требует законодательство.
Сам учитель говорит, что нашел статую около 20-22 дней назад, когда копал землю возле пруда, но не сообщил в полицию, потому что был занят работой.
Ценность статуи, по мнению экспертов, неоспорима. Она будет передана в музей Майнамати для исследования.
