Книга рекордов Гиннеса официально назвала собаку из Южной Каролины (США) самой старой в мире в возрасте 22 года и 59 дней.
Той-фокстерьер по кличке Пебблз (Pebbles) живет в доме у супружеской пары Тейлора Бобби и Джули Грегори.
Они решили подать заявку на признание Гиннесса после того, как прочитали о TobyKeith (ТобиКейт) — 21-летней собаке породы чихуахуа, которая получила этот титул в апреле.
«Бобби сидел на диване, а друзья и родственники начали переписываться и звонить по поводу истории, которую они видели о 21-летней собаке, установившей рекорд, — рассказала Джули Грегори. — Когда я увидела историю ТобиКейт во всех новостях, я подала заявку».
Пебблз родилась 28 марта 2000 года. По словам хозяев, она остается здоровой и активной, особенно ночью.
