Джон Раттер, популярный английский композитор, дирижер, редактор, аранжировщик и продюсер хоровой музыки, написал «Молитву об Украине. 15 марта была записана видеопремьера композиции в исполнении хоров Кембриджа, собравшихся в популярной у туристов церкви святой Марии Великой.
«Я стремился написать музыку, которая отразила бы масштаб трагедии», — сказал Раттер. Он надеется, что его произведение услышат и жители Украины.
Музыка Джона Милфорда Раттера очень популярна, особенно в США. В Великобритании его тоже ценят. Пресса называет Раттера «самым знаменитым и успешным автором рождественских композиций, живущим сегодня» и «создателем чудесно великих вещей для человеческого голоса».
Самые масштабные хоровые произведения Раттера — «Глория», «Реквием» (1985) и «Магнификат» (1990).
