В Западной Австралии в водах Солсбери разработчики из инженерной компании Cardno и исследователи из университета Бонда протестировали устройство Rpela V2, разработанное для защиты дайверов и серфингистов от атак акул.
Авторы концепции Rpela V2 уверены — аксессуар снизит риск приближения акулы на 38%, а ее агрессивность при контакте — на 66%.
Действие устройства, которое можно вставить в нижнюю часть доски для серфинга, основано на активности электрического поля. Импульсы призваны подавлять электрические приемные «сенсоры» акулы, обеспечивающие ее навигацию.
Для акул устройство безвредно, его воздействие можно сравнить, по словам разработчиков, с прослушиванием «очень громкой музыки, которая становится неприятной».
Новое устройство подзаряжается, его цена 500 долларов.
В 2020 году было зарегистрировано 57 нападений акул на людей. 10 человек погибли.
И все же говорить «нападение акулы» в Австралии больше нельзя
Телеграф рассказывал о том, что австралийские власти в законодательном порядке упразднили термин «нападение акулы», заменив его понятием «взаимодействие с акулой». Это важно для преодоления страха перед акулами и агрессии к ним.
