Специалисты Национального управления США по воздухоплаванию и исследованию космического пространства (NASA) показали 17 декабря новый снимок, переданный на Землю с борта орбитального телескопа «Хаббл».
На фото — объект IC 2631. Это отражательная туманность. Она представляет собой облако космической пыли, которые отражают излучение от близлежащей звезды в окружающее пространство. В результате создается необычная и завораживающая игра света.
IC 2631 — это самая яркая туманность так называемого Комплекса в Хамелеоне, она является масштабной областью звездообразования, которая занимает практически всё созвездие Хамелеона и частично созвездия Райской Птицы, Мухи, Киля и Октанта.
Осенью «Хаббл» смог захватить в объектив максимально много звезд
Мы рассказывали, что в сентябре телескоп «Хаббл», представляющий собой действующую на земной орбите автоматическую обсерваторию, захватил в объектив мириады звезд на одном снимке: красочное шаровое скопление Паломар-6. Шаровые скопления — это плотные системы очень древних звезд, гравитационно связанных в единую структуру.
